Its been a busy start to the year with inspections from Beerwah to Buderim and the hinterland. One common problem identified in many houses is bridging or breaching which can allow termites direct access into a dwelling. An inspection zone should always be maintained in order to force termites into the open where they can be detected more readily during regular inspections. In the photograph, it shows gardens abutting the dwelling covering weep holes and therefore the inspection zone is not properly exposed, creating a high risk of termite attack. This is just one reason why it is imperative to engage a knowledgeable inspector to carry out your pre-purchase inspection.
